NEAT has appeared in the European Commission’s Innovation Radar. Our work on a transport system that can abstract away from applications the protocols used for communication across the network has been identified as an “Exploration” innovation, “actively exploring value creation opportunities”.
A two-day hackathon activity was organised at IETF-101 in London, entitled “Interoperation between NEAT and PvD”. IETF 101 was the last IETF meeting happening during the NEAT project’s lifetime. As usual, NEAT was very active on various fronts. NEAT was represented by Celerway Communication AS at the 2018 edition of the Mobile World Congress (MWC), where Celerway demonstrated one of their products, a wireless router running a NEAT proxy, showing interface selection and multipath based on NEAT’s policy system.
The NEAT consortium held its last plenary meeting last week, on February 13-14, at Simula’s premises in Oslo. The meeting was devoted to wrapping up experimental activities and last-year demos. NEAT will be represented at the Mobile World Congress (MWC) by partner Celerway Communication. Celerway will be at Hall 5, stand 5G15, where they will present the benefits of using NEAT in mobile devices. MWC will take place in Barcelona, from February 26 to March 1st.
NEAT continues to have a strong presence in standardisation activities at the IETF. In November 2017, a new standards-track RFC co-authored by Michael Tüxen (FHM) was published: RFC 8260, “Stream Schedulers and User Message Interleaving for the Stream Control Transmission Protocol”.
