Two IETF Request for Comments (RFC) documents produced by NEAT participants have just been published:
- RFC 8095, “Services provided by IETF transport protocols and congestion control mechanisms”. This is the first document from the TAPS working group, with key information that will guide further TAPS activities. It defines transport services as a first step towards defining what the TAPS API should provide to applications.
- RFC 8085, “UDP Usage Guidelines”, is a document from the TSV working group that provides guidance for UDP application developers. It replaces RFC 5405 (a document cited by 31 other RFCs) and has fed NEAT work on the UDP and UDP-Lite API that is the subject of another ongoing TAPS draft from the project.
